Down Syndrome Children in Albania

down-syndrome-child-girl-300x205Unfortunately, children in Albania with Down Syndrome receive no development support from government sources. Culturally, special needs children are a source of shame for parents and they often feel the need to hide their children from public view.

Because of this, parents have little information, resources and encouragement during the challenging first years of parenting their special needs children.

A new charity, Jonathan Center, steps into this gap to help parents care for their young children with special events, camaraderie and support for marriages.

The Jonathan Center provides ongoing training and programs for special needs children and their parents. Would you give to make this dream a reality?

Details from the Directoralbania downs day
As a service center for children with Down Syndrome, one of our goals is to offer specialized therapy in a safe, clean environment. We would like to take some time during the end of the year holidays to re-paint our areas and equip as best appropriate for the therapy. The cost to repaint the therapy rooms is just $300. GIVE

Our parents have required that we enable them to observe the therapy sessions so we need to rebuild the doors and install a special “one-way” glass window to enable parents to observe without distracting their children. The cost of the new doors and window is $200. GIVE

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration and wish you a wonderful season!
